The Week Before Christmas!

We have a fun, short week ahead, filled with holiday activities and treats!  On Monday, we will have Polar Express Day!  We will read the book, draw pictures of the Polar Express using oil pastels, watch the movie, and drink hot chocolate!  We will also share our gingerbread traps.

On Tuesday, we will read Gingerbread Pirates, make our own gingerbread pirates, open presents, and have our holiday party!

On Friday, we will read, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and we will make teacher-directed Rudolph drawings!  School will be dismissed at 12:45pm on Friday!

Wednesday, Dec. 21st: Early Dismissal, 12:45pm; End of 2nd 9 weeks

As the weather has turned colder, please make sure that your child wears a winter coat to school so that they can play outside at Recess.  If it is below 45 degrees, I usually don’t take the children outside.

Our gingerbread unit continues!  This week, some of our featured gingerbread activities include writing about the gingerbread girl, creating a gingerbread craft, and a surprise activity!  We will also use gingerbread-themed math and reading stations!  It should be lots of fun!!

BGE Holiday Spirit Week!

Monday, Dec. 5th: Wear your favorite holiday socks!

Tuesday, Dec. 6th: Wear your favorite holiday hat!  BGE Book It Night at Pizza Hut, 5-7pm

Wednesday, Dec. 7th: Wear your holiday pajamas!

Thursday, Dec. 8th: Wear red and green!

Friday, Dec. 9th: Wear a tacky holiday sweater!

On Wednesday, December 7th, your child can wear pajamas to school!  Your child is welcome to bring slippers to wear in the classroom, but must wear sneakers to shoes.  Please remember that we have P.E. that day!

Our gingerbread unit is quite a big endeavor.  It will last for 4-5 weeks.  Therefore, it will run through December and into January. 

This week, some of our featured gingerbread activities include writing about the gingerbread baby, using the gingerbread man to play a counting by 5s & 10s game, and counting by 10s with gingerbread men.  We will also use gingerbread-themed math and reading stations!  It should be lots of fun!!
