This Week:

Thursday, Feb. 2nd: Interims go home

Saturday, Feb. 4th: Lydia’s 6th Birthday & Channing’s 6th Birthday!

Sunday, Feb. 5th: Emerson’s 6th Birthday!

 

I will be absent on Wednesday, February 1st.

I will be finishing Fountas and Pinnell Reading Assessments this week!  Fountas and Pinnell is an assessment that is given individually and will help me to determine your child’s reading level.  I hope to meet with reading groups at the end of the week.

Please remember to wear sneakers on Wednesdays for P.E.!

As the weather has turned colder, please make sure that your child wears a winter coat to school so that they can play outside at Recess.  If it is below 45 degrees, I usually don’t take the children outside.

Week of January 23-27

Wednesday, January 25th will be our 100th day of school!  This is a big deal in Kindergarten because we will celebrate being 100 days smarter.  The day will be filled with activities focused on the number 100, including stations, crafts, snacks, and math activities.  🙂

Fountas and Pinnell Reading Assessments began last Friday.  I will not be meeting with Reading Groups until these assessments are completeFountas and Pinnell is an assessment that is given individually and will help me to determine your child’s reading level.

January 17-20

All Week: Midyear PALS Testing

Friday, Jan. 20th: Kindergarten & 1st Grade Awards Assembly, 10am; College Day!

Wednesday, Jan. 25th: 100th Day of School!

If your child is receiving an award at the Kindergarten/ 1st Grade Awards Assembly, you received a letter with your child’s report card.  The Awards Assembly is on Friday, January 20th in the Community Center Auditorium!

I will not be meeting with Reading Groups during Midyear PALS Testing.  All student who scored 40 or below on Fall PALS will take Midyear PALS.
